An Evening with Susan Evans McCloud

We are thrilled to announce a very special visit to our shop by the talented poet and author

SusanEvansMcCloudSusan Evans McCloud

to speak with us about the celebrated children’s author and illustrator

Tasha Tudor

Susan is perhaps best known for penning the words to the popular hymns Lord, I Would Follow Thee and As Zion’s Youth (published in the 1985 LDS Hymnal), but she has been a prolific author, docent, and teacher for the last thirty-five years.

Less well known about her is the surprising relationship she established with Tasha Tudor, which saw Susan corresponding with Tasha and eventually traveling to Tasha’s farm in Vermont.

Tasha Tudor was a New England author and illustrator of nearly 100 charming books – including her first book Pumpkin Moonshine, published in 1939, and her last book The Corgiville Christmaspublished in 2003.
