New!  Kids’ Knit & Crochet Club—Come join the Harmony Kids’ Knit & Crochet Club! Meeting every Friday afternoon from 4:30 to 6pm, Allison Baker will provide guidance and encouragement to help you start and finish fun projects. Basic knitting or crochet skills preferred, but will be taught if needed. You can join in with the club group project, or work on your own projects – you decide!   For motivated kids age 10 and up.  Limited to 8 members.  (20% off supplies with dues!)
February project: Felted Knit Pocket Hearts. Materials: 100% Felt-able Worsted-Weight Wool, size US 8 needles
March project: Knit Beanie Hat. Materials: Chunky yarn, size 10 DPN or 16″ circular needles
April project: Crochet Purse: Worsted Weight Yarn, size H/8 5.0mm crochet hook.

Easy Embroidery—These classes teach embroidery basics.  Supplies: embroidery hoop, scissors, and thimble (optional); $5 kit including fabric with traced image, floss, needle, and backing material included in price!  Each 5 x 7” piece teaches Outline Stitch, French Knot, and Lazy Daisy; 4/25 class also teaches Satin Stitch.  Samples on display at Harmony.

Beginning Sewing Classes—Come learn to sew in a project-based series of monthly classes for the low price of $12 per class!  Sign up for one or all.  Class is limited to 6.   Classes are taught Tuesday afternoons from 4:30-6.
February 24:  Learn how to make ruffle skirts!  An additional $10 class fee provides enough fabric to make an adult skirt.
March 24:  Make kitchen accessories (decorative tea towels, oven mitts) or a ruffle apron.  You select the project of your choice!
April 21:  We will be making maxi skirts—so comfy, so stylish!

Calligraphy—Starting with basic Roman letterforms, we will build our skill with the Uncial alphabet and use it in various projects.  Fee includes handouts, various tools and papers.  Students will be contacted by email regarding other materials.

Intro to Crochet—Learn the basics of crochet while making a lovely flower pin.  Basic stitches such as chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet will be taught.  Supplies: one skein worsted weight yarn in desired flower color, and 1 size H/8 5.0mm crochet hook.  Each participant will receive a muslin drawstring bag and course folder with illustrated instructions.  Green yarn will be provided for the leaves, if desired.

Simple Knitted Bunny—Come learn how to knit an adorable tiny toy bunny! These knit up fast and make great Easter gifts! Perfect for beginning knitters, and great stash-busters.  Supplies:  knitting needles, can be double pointed or regular, Size 4 or 5 recommended, scraps of yarn in desired colors, large yarn needle.  Teacher will provide instruction sheet and scissors.

Traditional Granny Squares—Learn to crochet a timeless classic.  Class will cover methods of circular crochet motifs, changing colors, weaving in ends as you go, and joining techniques.  Basic crochet skills required.  Supplies: several different colors of DK or worsted weight yarn, size F/5 3.75 mm crochet hook (DK) or size H/8 5.0 mm hook (worsted weight), scissors, and a tapestry needle.

Cooking with Jane:  5-minute Artisan breads—Come and learn a revolutionary approach to bread baking: take some pre-mixed dough from the refrigerator; shape it; leave it to rest; then pop it in the oven and let it bake. By not kneading the dough but instead mixing it in bulk, refrigerating it, and using it as needed, you’ll truly be able to make this bread in five minutes a day—well, five minutes hands-on time.

Playing with Watercolors—Using various watercolor techniques we will splash in color and make a variety of cards.  Bring an inexpensive box of watercolors (or whatever you have) and a #2 or #4 round brush and/or a ½” flat brush.  (We can share!)  Instructor will provide  papers, watercolors, brushes, tools, envelopes, etc. included in price.

Class will cover how to make a granny square that is composed of two different colored triangles.
