Hand Sewing for KidsStudents will learn hand-sewing basics like knotting the thread, straight stitch, whip stitch, and back stitch while designing and sewing a little stuffed animal friend out of felt.

For ages 7-12, supplies included!

Tuesday July 9th, 2-3:30p | Leah Harmon Everett | $25


Color and Weave – Log Cabin Scarf Learn a new technique on the Rigid Heddle Loom! Color and Weave is a technique that uses color to make complicated designs while actually weaving plain weave. We will warp the loom with two contrasting colors to make a log cabin patterned scarf that can be finished in one day!

Student provides: rigid heddle loom, two shuttles, two balls of yarn of contrasting colors, heddle sized to work with the yarn (#8/worsted weight, #10/sport weight, #12/sock weight), scissors, other weaving tools

Saturday July 13th, 12-4p | Catherine Marchant | $40


Beginning Crochet Learn crochet basics (chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet) while making a lovely flower pin. Students receive a muslin drawstring bag and folder with illustrated instructions. Green yarn provided for leaves.  Class size limited to 4!

Student provides: One skein worsted weight yarn in desired flower color and 1 size H/8 5.0mm hook.

Saturday July 13th, 4-6p | Allison Baker | $25


Scandiwork Embroidery Workshop Hand embroidery is a beautiful complement to hand knitting. With a tapestry needle as your instrument, take simple knits to magnificent. In this workshop, students will learn various stitches, care of garments, and work to design a motif for a finished piece.

Student provides: sketch pad, colored pencils, tapestry needle, a 8”x8” knitted swatch + a finished knitted garment to embroider on

Thursday July 18th, 5-8p | Kristin Drysdale | $30


Crochet Granny Squares Learn to crochet a timeless classic.  We will learn circular crochet motifs, changing colors, weaving in ends as you go, and joining techniques.  Basic crochet skills required.

Student provides: several different colors of DK or worsted weight yarn, size F/5 3.75 mm hook (DK) or size H/8 5.0 mm hook (worsted), scissors, and a tapestry needle.

Punch Needle EmbroideryPunch needle embroidery is a folk craft that has recently gained popularity. In this workshop you will not only learn the basics of how to use your punch needle tool but also how to create designs of your own. A fun and easy craft perfect for summertime.

Student provides: a size 10 oxford punch needle, monk cloth, small scissors or nippers, worsted or aran weight yarn

Thursday August 1, 5:30 – 7:30p | Mirielle Sanford | $27


Intro to Machine Sewing for Kids Stitch up a super cute “No Drama Llama,” and she will become your best friend. We will learn some hand sewing and sewing machine basics.  Decorate your llama blanket, and she’s ready for any adventure.
