Beginning Brioche Workshop Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of Brioche knitting, a technique that makes a reversible knit fabric! We will learn how to do the basic brioche stitches in one and two colors and get comfortable working flat and in the round. Supplies for practice scarf: About 400 yards each of 2 colors of worsted weight yarn, a 24” size 6 circular needle with pointy tips. Supplies for circular practice sample: about 100 yards each of 2 colors of worsted yarn, a 16” size 6 circular needle with pointy tips. Bring scissors, stitch markers, a metal blunt-tipped tapestry needle, sticky notes, pencil, & measuring tape.

Half Square Triangle Quilting Learn three different techniques for quilting half square triangles. We’ll cover measuring, cutting, placement, sewing, and design. Suitable for all skill levels and so much fun! Bring at least a quarter yard each of two different fabrics—one light and one dark—or more color options, if desired. Bring coordinating thread and rotary tools (scissors okay) as well as a marking tool (pen, pencil, chalk). Your own machine is best to use, so bring it along—a sewing machine will be provided otherwise.

Brioche Knitting 2.0 – Build upon skills learned in Beginning Brioche Knitting to make beautiful intricate designs in brioche by using various increases and decreases. We will also learn the two-color Italian cast on and two-color Italian bind off. Students must have completed a beginning brioche class or should be comfortable knitting brioche in one and two colors. Bring at least 2 colors of worsted weight yarn (totaling 200 yards) and size 5 or 6 24” circular needles as well as basic knitting notions: scissors, stitch markers, blunt tapestry needle, pen or pencil—sticky notes are helpful! There is advanced preparation required; teacher will contact you for details.
